Tax consultancy in the age of digitization

KRIEGER and Imixs

Tax advice in the age of digitisation means much more than just scanning documents and filing them in an archive. Today, it is above all a matter of reacting quickly to the constantly increasing individual needs of medium-sized companies, while keeping an eye on the processes. In cooperation with Imixs GmbH, the KRIEGER Group, headquartered in Frankfurt, has developed a comprehensive digitization concept called KRIEGER Integrated Management System 4.0 (KIMS 4.0), which seamlessly integrates the business processes of its clients into a holistic consulting concept.

KRIEGER integrates Imixs software solution into own processes

The aim of the software solution was to establish a uniform central process platform through which all processes in the areas of invoice receipt control, document entry, checking, approval and posting and payment can be controlled and monitored. Based on the process management solution, both internal and client-related workflows can now be digitised. Together with the management of the KRIEGER Group, the necessary process flows were transferred into technically executable process models and adapted to the company’s own organisational structure.

The goal of the software solution was to establish a uniform central IMIXS-OFFICE-WORKFLOW the Open Source Workow solution for your company process platform, through which all processes in the area of invoice receipt control, document entry, verification, release and posting and payment can be controlled and monitored. Based on the process management solution Imixs-Office-Workflow, both internal and client-related workflows can now be digitised. Together with the management of the KRIEGER Group, the necessary process flows were transferred into technically executable process models and adapted to the company’s own organisational structure.

The KRIEGER Group, which specialises in the real estate industry and has assets under management of around 8 billion euros, offers one-stop services with around 70 employees in the areas of tax, accounting, auditing, legal and real estate consulting and is represented in Frankfurt, Berlin, Luxembourg and Lampertheim.

Quote Dragan Jeftic, Managing Director, KRIEGER GmbH Property Management Company

“Due to the interdisciplinary and integrated consulting approach of the KRIEGER Group, all processes from document acquisition to the annual financial statements are derived. The most important thing here is that important booking information is collected at the beginning of the process in order to be able to produce a reliable evaluation in reporting at the end. For example, cost centre accounting, in which cost items can be broken down to the administrative unit, as well as the apportionment and non-apportionment of expenses, was already implemented during document entry.

With this clearly structured and holistic approach, the property manager responsible for property accounting works closely with the tax advisor who prepares the tax return for the property company via appropriate interfaces and a uniform data platform. By aggregating different data volumes, the KRIEGER Group has succeeded in bringing together the world of balance sheet and cash-based accounting in the KIMS 4.0 reporting dashboard. The end result is a gain in quality and transparency, new reporting and evaluation options and 24/7 access to all essential property documents via web-based systems.

Process management with BPMN 2.0

Using the model-driven approach of the process management suite Imixs-Ofce-Workflow, various types of release processes can be implemented quickly and individually. Even complex client-related business processes can be adapted to the compliance guidelines of the respective client by means of individual business rules. This is made possible by the BPMN 2.0 standard, which allows the graphical modelling of business processes.

Interfaces

The digitization of the documents is further supported by technical interfaces. Incoming invoices are automatically scanned and recognised. Document data is processed for payment automation in the SEPA standard and integrated into online banking. The transfer to DATEV takes place both in the document image and with the corresponding posting information.

Lower IT costs through virtualisation

Imixs-Office workflow is operated as a “Platform as a Service (PaaS)” based on Docker and Kubernetes. This approach enables operation in local data centres and thus also supports the latest requirements of the DSGVO and the EU ePrivacy Directive.

Imixs-Office-Workflow is an open source technology. This way, IT costs are sustainably reduced and at the same time new possibilities for digitalisation are opened up.
